Charlotte attended a birthday party today. She received a loot bag that included some fancy lotion and hand sanitizer. We explained that the hand sanitizer is used to clean your hands when you aren't able to use soap and water. She had last used hand sanitizer at the mall before going to see Santa.
Charlotte informed us that it was not hand sanitizer that she used at the mall, it was SANTATIZER!
Gotta love the clever wordplay of a 5 year old.

Quote of the day - January 25, 2011
Charlotte slept in until almost 8:00 a.m today. Hallelujah! She is usually up hours before the sun.
When she came downstairs this morning she exclaimed "Mommy, did you know that the sun doesn't have a clock? I think it got up early today."

Quote of the day - January 23, 2011
I caught Charlotte walking to her bedroom from the bathroom with her pajamas around her ankles. I asked her what she was doing.
"I have to poo, so I need to get my word search" was her reply. Returning to the bathroom, with word search and pen in hand she further explained "I want to be just like dad".
I was later informed that like her father she does her best thinking on the potty.

We are in the full throws of a Winnipeg winter right now. Temperatures of -30 degrees Celsius, huge drifts of snow, and iced up car windows are the norm. While driving to Gramma's house yesterday, Miss Charlotte shared this little gem.
"Mom, I scraped off the ice from the window and I can see THE WHOLE WORLD! Can you see it too? Can you see it?"
Her innocence and absolute awe of the world melts my wintery heart.
