Quote of the day - September 30, 2007

While looking out the backdoor....

Charlotte: "Want to see butterflies."
Dad: "The butterflies have flown south for the winter."
Charlotte: "They've gone to the store to get noodles and broccoli for supper."
Dad: "Ohhhh."

Quote of the day - September 16, 2007

Charlotte omitted the afternoon nap today, therefore suppertime was especially enjoyable.

Charlotte: "Noooooooooooooo. I don't want it. Nooooooooooooooooo etc...."
Mommy: "Charlotte, put the wine away. Mommy's not thirsty."

Mommy's still got it!

Quote of the day - September 2, 2007

We spent most of today outside, doing yard work and enjoying the final days of summer. We had a huge mound of dirt dropped off last week. Charlotte calls it Dragon Mountain (idea borrowed from a Dora episode). She loves to stand barefoot in the mud, letting it squish between her toes. Today we had many shovels and tools scattered about the yard, necessitating the wearing of shoes by all family members.

Charlotte, standing next to Dragon Mountain demands, "Mommy, I need to put my feet on!"
Me: "You want to take your shoes off?"
Charlotte: "Yeah!"
